Natural History Museums of Athens

The Goulandris Natural History Museum is one of the best equipped and the most interesting museums of Athens, significantly popular to the young children. The visitors of the museum will firstly see a big variety of plants accompanied by several information on their anatomy as well as their habits. There is also a small collection of insects that live mainly in Greece. The museum houses a section devoted to the marine life with impressive shells and various sea organism that live in very deep seas. The next section hosts a large variety of bird spices including wild birds that one cannot see elsewhere else. Continuously, there is a collection of mamma animals some of which sound exotic to the greek people, such us lions, tigers, koalas, bears, a dinosaur and a very tall giraffe. There is also a three-dimensional earth model where one can see the layers of the earth interior and a collection of minerals and rocks both from Greece and foreign countries.
